Where can I find a copy of Magic City Reader?

Why is there a pencil in every copy?
Draw on it. Trade notes in the margins. Give it to someone. Keep it. Do the crossword. Roll one up and put it in your back pocket. Stand in line and enjoy the cover. Sit down and put your knee up and flip through it. Read it. Pretend to read it.

The pencil is stamped; can I advertise on it?
Yes.

Is Magic City Reader free?
It’s free. Take one.

What’s the difference between the printed edition and this website?
Printed copies have more content. This site publishes select stories.

Where is your social media?

Can I contribute to MCR?

How do you use AI?
AI is a research tool. Everything in MCR is created or edited by a person.

What is the content?
Original writing, photography, and art. Local news played straight. Local people and events. An arts calendar. Many absorbing extras. Rated PG.

How is MCR produced?
MCR is produced on a traditional newsprint web press. There are 56 color pages (14 sheets) folded, stapled, and trimmed into a 7x10 portrait booklet.

Who funds or invests in MCR?
Advertisers only.

Is MCR affiliated with an incubator, media group, nonprofit, or other third party?
No.
